The University of Alaska Museum of the North is offering two different art workshops for adults this summer. Participants will experiment with color, texture and materials. No previous
experience is necessary.
The first workshop, Abstract Collage, is offered Monday, July 27, and Wednesday, July
29, from 6-8 p.m. in the museum’s Creativity Lab. Curator Mareca Guthrie said participants
will explore abstract art through different techniques inspired by the museum's special
exhibit, “Vogel 50x50.”
The second workshop, Naturalist Printmaking, is offered Monday, Aug. 10, and Wednesday, Aug. 12, from 6-8 p.m. in the museum’s Creativity Lab. Participants will explore naturalist drawings and make copper plate prints using objects from the museum’s collections as inspiration.
Space is limited, so advance registration is required. The cost is $100 per person and $90 for museum members. For more information and to register, visit the museum at www.uaf.edu/museum/education/adults.
