Do you want to take a summer course but do not have the funds? UAF Summer Sessions & Lifelong Learning may have some money for you. Check out these summer financial aid options, starting with in-state tuition for everyone in the summer!

The Sweet Summer Deal can help students attend UAF full time in the summer. Students with at least a 2.0 grade point average can take up to 14 credits and only pay tuition for 10 credits. Students must pass all courses with a C or better. (The Sweet Summer Deal applies only to courses offered by Summer Sessions or eLearning. UAF Community and Tehnical College courses are not eligible.)

In addition, continuing UAF students are eligible for the following three financial aid options when taking courses offered through Summer Sessions & Lifelong Learning. (Courses through CTC or eLearning do not qualify).

  • The  Summer Sessions & Lifelong Learning Undergraduate Tuition Award provides three credits of tuition for students with a 2.5 GPA and financial need as verified by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. The tuition award must be used for a course that is required for graduation. Students must either pass the course with at least a C grade or repay the award.

  • The RG and Onnie V. Bouchum/LaShina R. Jones Memorial Scholarship provides $500 awards to two qualified students with a 2.5 GPA or higher.

  • The Professor Joseph Thompson Memorial Scholarship provides a $500 award to a qualified student with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
