Summer Music Academy concerts

The 2011 University of Alaska Fairbanks Summer Music Academy is a two-week intensive music program open to students who have finished grades 6 – 12. Participants have opportunities to perform in weekday recitals, special events on solstice weekend and a final concert for each large ensemble.

Concert performances will be held in the Davis Concert Hall and are free of charge:

Thursday, June 16


  • 6:30 p.m. — World Beat and Percussion Ensembles

  • 7:00 p.m. — Orchestras


Friday, June 17

  • 11:35 a.m. — Guitar Hour

  • 12:30 p.m. — Awards Presentation and Final Concert Hour

  • 1:30 p.m. — Steel Drums and Ensembles

  • 2:30 p.m. — Choirs

  • 3:30 p.m. — Steel Drums and Ensembles

  • 4:00 — Jazz Bands

  • 6 p.m. — Celtic Music

  • 7 p.m. — Bands Concert


A picnic for academy campers and families will take place at 5 p.m., Friday, June 17.
