Applications are open for the 2021 Alaska INBRE Summer Academic Enrichment Diversity Opportunity. This is a paid research experience for underrepresented undergraduates. The funding period is May 9-Aug. 14, 2021.

The deadline to apply is Friday, April 2. Awards will be announced April 16.

The initiative provides support for a project in the biomedical sciences and health with mentorship from a UA faculty member. Students funded through this program will gain valuable experience in designing, conducting and reporting biomedical research. The purpose is to train undergraduate students in scientific methods, scientific writing, reporting and presentation preparation.

Priority will be given to Alaska Native students and students from other underrepresented groups as defined by National Institutes of Health. Two students will be funded through this solicitation for conducting research at UAF, UAA or UAS.
