UAF students Katie Luper, Korlyn Bolster, Alexander Bergman, Abdel Abouhaib, Jessie Huff and Michaela Swanson presented at the National Conference on Sustainability in Los Angeles this fall.

The conference’s theme was Investing in the Future. Along with Michele Hebert, director of the Office of Sustainability, the students gave two presentations and one poster.

  • Michaela Swanson co-presented with Alexander Bergman a poster on the popular “UAF Green Bike Program," which loans out free bikes to students on a semester basis.

  • All the students presented, “Sustainable Change at UAF: Initiated and Managed by Students,” which highlighted student sustainability programs.

  • Abdel Abouhaib, Sustainable Village resident co-presented, "The Sustainable Village at UAF" with Jessie Huff. Abdel expressed what it means to be part of the project, and Jessie Huff described the development of the village and building science research efforts.
