Sustainability students remove bird vetch

Office of Sustainability student workers Alexander Bergman, Jeric Quilza, and Rodney Carpluk began removing bird vetch on the UAF campus.


This week student workers from the UAF Office of Sustainability began removing bird vetch on the UAF campus. This will be a summerlong program with the goal of making UAF an invasive-plant-free campus. Invasive plants have many characteristics that allow them to dominate native vegetation. They grow rapidly, mature early and are able to reproduce both sexually and vegetatively.
