The Alaska women's swim team continues regular season dual-meet action this weekend when it hosts PCSC opponent Cal State East Bay this Friday and Saturday at the Patty Center Pool.

Friday's meet is set for a 6 p.m. (AKST) start while Saturday's session will begin at noon (AKST) as both meets will be streamed live and archived. There will be nine individual races and two relays on each day. Admission is free to all spectators on both days. It is also the start of Military Appreciation so all military personnel in attendance will be honored.

The Nanooks are 2-0 in dual meets this year after picking up a pair of 113-92 victories over California Baptist two weeks ago. Alaska, which won against CBU for the first time ever, set a pair of pool records on the weekend as it re-wrote the record book in the 800 freestyle relay and the 200 butterfly.

The foursome consisting of senior Meghan O'Leary (Seward, Alaska), sophomores Margot Adams (Anchorage, Alaska) and Gabi Summers (Cheyenne, Wyo.) and junior Bente Heller (Hamburg, Germany) completed the 800 free in seven minutes, 56.85 seconds, breaking the previous record by almost 14 seconds.

The following day, Adams, who was swimming the 200 fly for the first time ever in a competitive setting, broke the pool record in that race after she hit the wall in 2:08.51.

Last week, East Bay downed both Cal Baptist (148.5-125.5) and Redlands (160-109) to move to 3-0 on the year in dual meets. The Pioneers also have a first-place showing to their name from the Bay Area Invitational. CSUEB finished one spot behind Alaska in fifth at last year's PCSC Championship.
