PLEs
Why would your students need a PLE? A personal learning environment can provide a framework for your students’ learning , their achievements and a range of lifelong based learning events. It is one way of organizing the many places they go to on the web, and the many tools they use to plan, schedule, remind, record and reflect their computer-based activities. The best function of a PLE is its portability. Students can be anywhere, using any computer and link directly to their own organized space. A teaching tips live event will be held from 1-2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25, in the Wood Center Pub. Brooke Sheridan will facilitate the discussion about ways to encourage useful student participation. Learning doesn't happen in a vacuum, and promoting meaningful discussion in the classroom helps create a more dynamic and effective learning community.
