Teaching tip: Tools for formative assessment

Formative assessments can be defined as activities undertaken by instructors and/or
students that provide feedback for modifying the teaching and learning activities
based on what, exactly, students are learning. This week's teaching tip is a look
using wall stickies to allow online collaboration, brainstorming, and the sharing
of information through sticky notes; this type of tool allows students to use the
mobile device tools they prefer and live with everyday. The tools Padlet and Lino
are available on such mobile devices, in addition to MAC OS and Windows.
