A teaching tips live event about badging will be held from 3-4 p.m. on Wednesday,
Nov. 13, in Murie Auditorium.
Dan LaSota will talk about badges and communicating achievement and motivating students.
Are badges in the digital realm just glorified golden stars? OK, so they're a bit
more than stars. How does a digital badge convey evidence of achievement? How is the
issuer's institutional reputation tied to the allocation of badges? What are some
design considerations in creating badges? What kinds of activities can badges be awarded
for? How does FERPA affect badging? How do badges relate to grades and formal assessment?
