Technology services outage Oct. 14

Facilities Services has scheduled an outage on Oct. 14 to upgrade a utility power transformer. The upgrade requires a power outage for the Butrovich Computer Facility, which houses systems for ARSC, OIT, the UAF Library and others. The 16-hour outage takes most technology services offline, including the UAF website, access to UAOnline, Blackboard and other systems.

The Office of Information Technology recommends setting up an alternate login to access your Google Apps @ UA email account during this outage. Simply set up a Google-side password at http://www.alaska.edu/google/password-change/ before the outage. This password is different from the one you use to access Google Apps with an Internet browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox.
