'Theo's Choice' film screening
April 19, 2018
A screening of the documentary "Theo's Choice" will be held Tuesday, April 24, at
5:30 p.m. in ELIF 301 (the new engineering building addition). The film explores education
and French heritage in Louisiana and how globalization could save a language from
disappearing. It follows Theo Brode and others in his community in their fight for
identity in Louisiana and to save Cajun and Creole through education.
This free, public event will include an open discussion with the producer/writer,
Thomas Cauvin, and a panel consisting of Len Kamerling, Larry Kaplan and Hélène Genet.
The film will be especially interesting for those who are interested in languages,
education, minority cultures and film, but all are welcome!
