The University of Alaska Fairbanks will celebrate the first step in the Troth Yeddha’ Legacy initiative with an event Thursday, Sept. 4, at 3 p.m. at the site of the Troth Yeddha’ Park on the Fairbanks campus’ West Ridge.

The event will celebrate Alaska Native leadership at UAF and will include the unveiling of a sign marking the Troth Yeddha’ Park site. The university plans to develop the park and create an indigenous studies center adjacent to it. Invited speakers include UAF Vice Chancellor Evon Peter, Tanana Chiefs Conference President Victor Joseph, Doyon Limited CEO Aaron Schutt and Fairbanks Native Association Director Steve Ginnis.

The park is located between the UA Museum of the North and the Reichardt Building. Please park at the museum.
