Two final Skillsoft sessions set for UA employees
July 29, 2014
If you’re not familiar with the vast array of free online professional development
resources available to you, don’t miss one of the last two scheduled orientations
this year on Skillsoft resources.
The orientations will be held online at 9 a.m. on July 30 and Sept. 19.
Skillsoft Corp.'s online courses, books, job aids and videos are available to university
employees at no charge through Jan. 30, 2015. Online course topics cover business
skills, desktop (e.g. Microsoft Office 2013), information technology, workplace/legal
compliance, and environmental, safety and health.
You may also complete courses and take a practice exam to prepare yourself for certification
in a variety of areas such as project management, ITIL®, CompTIA, Six Sigma Black
Belt and Green Belt. You have the option to “chat” at any time, day or night, with
a Skillsoft “mentor” who is certified in the specific area of study. The application
to take the official certification exam is done by the employee working directly with
the organization conferring the certification, e.g. Project Management Institute and
not Skillsoft.
If you are currently certified, recertification credits may be available by completing
certain Skillsoft courses. It is recommended that you print your certificate of course
completion.
