The UA Security Matters team will hold its National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM) Partner Kickoff at 1 p.m. Oct. 1. It's the first in a series of security awareness webinars this October.

The presentation, held in partnership with the National Cybersecurity Alliance, contains an overview of threats and protective measures. The webinar will be offered via Zoom and requires you to be signed in to attend. Webinars are open to all University of Alaska faculty, staff, and students.

National Cybersecurity Awareness Month — observed every October — was created as a collaborative effort between government and industry to ensure every American has the resources needed to stay safer and more secure online.

This year’s theme is “Do Your Part. #BeCyberSmart.” UA Security Matters will host Zoom presentations, online scavenger hunts, and a poster and video contest. It will also publish new security awareness articles. Earn points for participation for yourself and your department, organization or group!
