UAF, Air Force to host HAARP facility transition ceremony

The Air Force Research Laboratory, in conjunction with University of Alaska Fairbanks,
will host a transition ceremony at the High Frequency Active Auroral Program, or HAARP,
site in Gakona, Alaska on Tuesday, Aug. 11 at 2 p.m.
The event will transfer the ionospheric research facility from the United States Air
Force to the University of Alaska Fairbanks, allowing HAARP to continue with the exploration
of ionospheric phenomenology via a land-use cooperative research and development agreement.
