University of Alaska Fairbanks buildings at locations across the state will be closed
to public access starting at 5 p.m. today, Thursday, March 26. Employees and students
will still be able to access buildings using their keys or PolarExpress cards.
Most employees at UAF’s campuses are working remotely in an effort to help slow the
spread of COVID-19. Students are taking courses via distance delivery. The building
closure applies to locations in Fairbanks and North Pole, as well as campuses and
sites in rural communities.
While buildings will be closed, university departments will still be operating. Employees,
students or members of the public who need to do business with the university are
encouraged to call first to set up an appointment or to get their questions answered
over the phone. Visit https://people.alaska.edu/ to look up contact information for university departments.
Food service for students living in residence halls will continue via delivery.
