The University of Alaska Fairbanks Community and Technical College will pay the $40 UAF CTC college application fee for students who graduate from an Alaska high school or complete a GED in spring and summer 2019.

The offer, named "High School to College and Career," is available to eligible students who apply to any CTC program for fall 2019. Details, eligibility information and application instructions can be found online at ctc.uaf.edu/HStoCollege.

“We are creating opportunities for high school students to take that jump into college," said CTC Dean Michele Stalder. "There is a place for them at CTC, where they can choose from 40-plus workforce development programs or an Associate of Arts with an emphasis that is a direct bridge to four-year programs. CTC is a rich environment that supports students and helps them succeed.”

CTC offers over 40 certificate and associate degree programs in high-demand career fields such as health, aviation, oil and mining, culinary arts, and much more. Students learn through hands-on experience with industry-leading technologies, and instructors are experts in their fields with real-world experience.

For the past 45 years, CTC has worked with Alaska communities and industry advisors to prepare Alaskans for relevant, high-demand jobs, creating the opportunity for students to learn and practice the skills they need to succeed in the workforce. In addition to meeting industry standards, many CTC programs also carry state and national credentialing, which enhances students’ employment opportunities.
