UAF internet out of service May 15 and 22

UAF's internet, including WiFi,  will be out of service due to planned power outages on May 15 and May 22. Facilities Services plans to conduct maintenance power shutdowns that will affect UAF Internet and corresponding systems. The outages are needed to ensure the safety of technicians working on the installation of a new backup generator for the Butrovich Data Center.  

The planned outages will take place on:

  • Saturday, May 15, 12:01 a.m. to 11 p.m. (00:01-23:00)

  • Saturday, May 22, 12:01 a.m. to 10 p.m.  (00:01-22:00)


The following will be disrupted during the outages:

  • Internet access on the Troth Yeddha’ Campus, CTC, all UAF community campuses and outreach centers, including on-campus housing

  • VPN access for UAF and UA users

  • Access to shared files hosted in Butrovich Data Center

  • International Student and Scholar Management Ellucian Application - ISSM

  • Banner modules including Banner HR, Payroll and General

  • UAOnline

  • Vista Plus

  • OnBase

  • TouchNet


Internet services and systems for UAA and UAS and their affiliated community campuses will be available.
