UAF participates in STARS to help set and meet sustainability goals

LJ Evans

It's my pleasure to share that UAF has registered as a STARS participant with my support as chancellor.

The Sustainability Tracking, Assessment and Rating System, or STARS, is a self-assessment tool used by institutions of higher education to measure their sustainability progress. STARS, a program under the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education, will help our institution set and meet sustainability goals while fostering collaboration and information sharing across our campus.

Participating in STARS requires a substantial amount of data collection in three main categories: education and research, operations and planning, and administration and engagement. Michele Hebert, STARS liaison for UAF, will spearhead data collection efforts on campus.

Please contact Michele Hebert at mahebert@alaska.edu, if you have any questions about UAF's participation in the program. For more information please see the STARS website.

Thank you for your participation.
