UAF to close offices, reduce hours during winter break

Most offices at the University of Alaska Fairbanks will be closed for the winter break,
Dec. 25, 2017, through Jan. 2, 2018. Many will also be closed or have reduced hours
from Dec. 20-22 and Jan. 3-5.
The UAF police and fire departments will remain open throughout the break. The University
of Alaska Museum of the North will be closed Dec. 25-26 and Jan. 1-2.
UAF will not provide shuttle service Dec. 25-Jan. 2, and will have reduced service
with a single shuttle running from Jan. 3-5.
WINTERmester, which includes 20 courses available to students and the community during
the break, is scheduled for Jan. 3-12. Courses and registration information are available
at www.uaf.edu/summer/sessions/wintermester/. WINTERmester will also host a free concert at 7 p.m. Jan. 6, at the Regents' Great
Hall, featuring the E.T. Barnette Dry Cabin String Band and Greta and the Goldstrummers.
Students will begin returning to campus at 8 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, when residence
halls reopen. New students are invited to participate in orientation activities that day.
The first day of classes for the spring semester is Tuesday, Jan. 16. The 2017-2018
