The University of Alaska Fairbanks will present "When the Fog Clears," a documentary film that features remembrances by Japanese and American descendants of those who lost their lives in the Aleutian Islands campaign. The film will be shown at 4 p.m. March 2 at Schaible Auditorium, and will be followed by a discussion with director Tadashi Ogawa.

The English-language film intertwines the breathtaking natural scenery of Kiska and Attu islands with interviews. Admission is free and open to the public. Short-term parking can be purchased in lots next to the Bunnell Building.

The event is sponsored by the Consular Office of Japan in Anchorage, UAF Department of History, UAF Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures, and College of Liberal Arts. For more information, call 907-474-7396.
