UAF to host Healthy Living lecture series

The annual Healthy Living lecture series will begin on May 28, featuring lectures
by a variety of experts and specialists on medical issues.
The free lectures, which are presented by the University of Alaska Fairbanks Summer
Sessions and Lifelong Learning, will be at 7 p.m. Tuesdays in the Murie Building auditorium
at UAF. A question-and-answer session will follow each presentation.
The summer schedule includes:
May 28 — “EARssentials: Hearing and Balance Basics,” Lily Hughes, clinical audiologist
June 4 — “Understanding Chronic Pain and How It Can Be Conservatively Managed,” Rachel Campbell and Jake Kretschmar, physical therapists
June 11 — “Headaches and Migraines: How To Tell the Difference and What To Do About It,” Joshua Costello, chiropractor
June 18 — “What Does It Take to Be Financially Healthy?” Ben Roth, financial advisor
June 25 — “What’s In Your Colon? The Connection Between Optimal Health and the Digestive System,” Tonya Brown, licensed colon hydrotherapist
July 9 — “Epigenetics: Unlocking Your Genetic Potential,” Ashley May, naturopathic doctor
July 16 — “Sleep Physiology, Common Disorders and General Health,” Clay Triplehorn, doctor of osteopathic medicine
July 23 — “What to Expect in Aging Eyes,” Michael Mavencamp, optometrist
July 30 — “Keep Your Smile! How Oral Health and General Health are Interconnected, and Amazing Advances in Dentistry Over the Past 45 Years,” Ron Teel, retired dentist
Aug. 6 — “Is Testosterone Replacement a Panacea for Middle-Aged Men?” Ahmed Muhammad, endocrinologist
