UAF to participate in Remembrance Day National Roll Call Nov. 11
October 11, 2011
Members of the UAF community will participate in the Remembrance Day National Roll
Call Friday, Nov. 11 outside Constitution Hall on campus.
The event will begin at 8 a.m. with an opening ceremony. Following the ceremony, volunteers
will begin reading the names of the more than 6,000 American servicemembers killed
in the last decade in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. At 10 a.m., the campus will join
the rest of the nation in a moment of silence. The roll call will continue until the
last name is read and will be followed by a 21-gun rifle salute at about 5 p.m.
The event is open to the public.
