Starting this winter, UAF will track the electric, water and heat consumption for 20 buildings on campus. This real-time data is displayed at www.uaf.edu/sustainability/dashboard.

In the future, data will also be displayed on interactive monitors at the Wood Center, Rasmusen Library and the West Ridge cafe. The project is funded with the Student Sustainability Initiative Funds or SIREN funds.

The software is named Building Dashboard and relays energy usage rates to Lucid Design Group, a California-based company that hosts the site. This data is then converted into an accessible format and displayed on the monitors and website.

Tips on what you can do to save energy can be found at uaf.edu/sustainability and progress can be tracked on www.uaf.edu/sustainability/dashboard.
