The Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarly Activity has funds to support undergraduate student travel to present or support their individual research or creative projects.

Undergraduate students are invited to apply for one of five or more Undergraduate Student Travel Awards of up to $2,000.  Any undergraduate student with good academic standing and an established project (in collaboration with a faculty mentor) is eligible for funding. Applications are due by Sept. 20, 2013.  Students in any UAF discipline and from any UAF campus will be considered. Preference will be given to degree-seeking students.

The student travel must be for the purpose of supporting the student’s successful completion of a project or presenting its results or outcomes at a public, professional meeting. While the project topic and results may contribute to a faculty member’s program of research or creative scholarship, the work must be performed by the student with mentoring by the faculty member (possibly with help from graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and/or technicians).  Travel must be encumbered by June 14, 2014 and begun by June 30, 2014.
