Falklands researcher to discuss increase in whale numbers

A researcher will talk Wednesday, Nov. 16, about using observations from Falkland
Islands residents to document the increase in baleen whale numbers.
Veronica F. Frans, a research assistant with the South Atlantic Environmental Research
Institute in the Falklands, will present "A whale of a tale: Using local ecological
knowledge to investigate baleen whale recovery and distribution around the Falkland
Islands."
The presentation will be from 12:15-1 p.m. in Room 130 of the Murie Building.
