Junior guard Pat Voeut (Bellingham, Wash./Communications) has been named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Red Lion Co-Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday morning.

“Pat really set the tone for us on Thursday night with his early shooting and 25 points,” head coach Mick Durham said. “The thing for Pat is his great consistency from night in and night out. He's doing a great job running the offense and he's solid defensively too. I can see him growing as he gets comfortable with his leadership and it's great to see.”

Voeut helped the Nanooks (8-4, 3-1 GNAC) to the program's first GNAC road sweep in six seasons as they downed Central Washington 82-75 before cruising 74-55 at Northwest Nazarene.

He scored 25 of his 31 points in Thursday's win at Central, which was only the third victory ever for Alaska at Nicholson Pavilion. Voeut shot 60 percent (12-20 FG) for the week and also contributed team-bests of 4.0 assists and 3.0 steals per game while draining all five free throw attempts.

Voeut, who garnered the award for the second time this season (last Nov. 29, 2012), shared the honor with Saint Martin's Roger O'Neill, who scored a career-high 24 points in the Saints' 71-59 win against Western Oregon on Saturday.

Alaska has now won four straight games, its longest win streak since the 2006-07 season, and puts it on the line this week with a pair of home GNAC games. The Nanooks take on Saint Martin's Thursday before rounding out the week against Western Oregon Saturday. Both games are set for 7 p.m. starts.
