Week’s events: UAF memories, migraine talk, drones, steel drums

University of Alaska Fairbanks Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning is hosting 40 free lectures, concerts and other events this summer. Here is what’s happening during the week ahead:

On Monday, June 10, the Down Memory Lane interview series will include a discussion with Joan Braddock, retired UAF professor of biology and dean of the College of Natural Science and Mathematics. Veteran journalist Robert Hannon will conduct the interview, which will be at 7 p.m. in the Murie Building auditorium.

On Tuesday, June 11, the Healthy Living lecture series will feature chiropractor Joshua Costello. He will present “Headaches and Migraines: How to Tell the Difference and What To Do About It.” The lecture will be at 7 p.m. in the Murie Building auditorium.

On Wednesday, June 12, the Discover Alaska lecture series will feature Peter Webley, the associate director of research at UAF’s Alaska Center for Unmanned Aircraft Systems Integration. Webley will discuss “Unmanned Aerial Systems: Their Capabilities, Potential, and Current Research Uses.” The lecture will be at 7 p.m. in the Murie Building auditorium.

On Thursday, June 13, the Music in the Garden concert series will host Cold Steel Drums. Music begins at 7 p.m. in the Georgeson Botanical Garden.
