More than 180 professional and citizen scientists convened at the Bristol Bay Campus in Dillingham last week for the 5th annual Western Alaska Interdisciplinary Science Conference. The three-day conference was the largest to date and featured diverse topics including fisheries, subsistence science, marine science, local and traditional knowledge, green building and more. An entire day was devoted to discussions on baseline data collected for the proposed Pebble Mine site.

Video was taken of the conference and will soon be available online along with the proceedings and WAISC award winners. For more information about the conference visit http://seagrant.uaf.edu/conferences/waisc/.
