Wood energy forums set in Palmer, Anchorage and Fairbanks

Wood energy and biomass forums will take place in Palmer July 13, in Anchorage July 14 and Fairbanks July 16.

The University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service will host the free forums. Topics will include residential wood boilers; choosing a wood stove; using pellets, chips or logs; emissions and particulates; greenhouse heat; and wood care.

Guillermo Metz, an energy specialist from Cornell Cooperative Extension, and Alaska professional forester Glen Holt will lead the forums.

The Palmer forum will meet from 5:30-8:30 p.m. July 13 at the Matanuska Experiment Farm and Extension Center, 1509 S. Georgeson Drive. The Anchorage forum is set from 1-4 p.m. July 14 in the Birch Room of the BP Energy Center, 1014 Energy Court. The Fairbanks forum will meet from 5-8 p.m. July 16 at the BP Design Theater, in Suite 401 of the UAF Engineering Learning and Innovation Facility.
