Reach for gold intellectual property day 2019 graphicApril 26 is a day to celebrate the role of intellectual property rights in encouraging innovation and creativity.

This year’s World Intellectual Property Day campaign — "Reach for Gold" — takes a closer look inside the world of sports. It explores how innovation and creativity, and how the IP rights that encourage and protect them support the development of sport and its enjoyment around the world.

Alaska has a strong sports innovation history, including the celebration of the World Eskimo Indian Olympics, sled dog races like the Iditarod and Yukon Quest, bore-tide surfing and heli-skiing.

On April 26, play your favorite sport, take a photo and share it with #worldipday and #oipcUAF! Show the rest of the world how innovative Alaska really is!
