Alaska 4-H invites Alaska youth ages 5-18 to Chalk it Up!

Participants in this statewide activity will receive a free project kit containing sidewalk chalk, coding cards and instructions. Participants create a chalk obstacle course, then write the algorithms (set of instructions) in chalk for someone to follow. Once you have finished your activity, follow instructions to show what you have done. Anyone who completes the first part will receive a mailed package with information to continue the activity for months.

The project is for all youth, including 4-H’ers and nonmembers. If you live in the Fairbanks area, register for your kits and schedule a pickup time from 5-6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, or noon-1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, at the Noel Wien Library parking lot. Please wait in your car for the delivery. Face coverings and social distancing are required for pickup days.

If you live outside the Fairbanks area, contact your local 4-H representative for information on registering and receiving a kit.
