Yukon Drive should be reopened on Friday, July 11, depending upon the weather this week, according to UAF Facilities Services.

The road has been excavated to allow work on a wastewater line buried below it.

The road is closed from Kobuk Avenue through the North Chandalar  Drive intersection.

During the closure, access between east and west campus areas is via Kuskokwim Way, Tanana Loop and North Tanana Drive.

North Chandalar Drive is closed to through traffic at the fire station. A detour route around the Yukon Drive work, which was established earlier on Kobuk Avenue and Colville Street, is also closed.

Access to the Chancellor's Residence, Colville Street and Stuart Hall is from West Yukon Drive and Kobuk Avenue. Access to the North Chandalar Drive residences, Bunnell House day care and Walsh Hall remains open from North Chandalar, which can be entered from a temporary entrance at its western end that connects to Kuskokwim Way.

Pedestrians can reach the North Chandalar Drive residences, Bunnell House and Walsh Hall from the Wood Center area by crossing the parking lot east of the fire and police stations in the Whitaker Building.
