Undergraduate students from any science, technology, engineering or mathematics fields are eligible to apply for a $7,300 stipend to conduct a research or engineering project directly related to NASA’s interests. Must be a U.S. citizen. The application deadline is Sept. 1!

Visit the Alaska Space Grant Program's Undergraduate Research Apprenticeships webpage for more information on applying.

Alaska Space Grant Program, headquartered at UAF, is a group of five institutions which includes UA’s three universities, Alaska Pacific University and the Challenger Learning Center with the goal of fostering the STEM workforce and advancing NASA’s research goals. We aim to provide higher-education students authentic hand-on research and/or engineering experiences.

Consider visiting https://spacegrant.alaska.edu/impact for a list of prior awards. NASA’s interests span Earth Science, Space Weather, Robotics, Aviation, Communications, Behavioral Health, and much more.

Interested students should choose a project, find a faculty/staff mentor and determine how it relates to NASA’s stated goals (See NASA Strategic Plan and NASA Technology Taxonomy). The application consists of a three-page proposal with big-picture and explicit project descriptions.
