CFOS Seminar: Arctic-bound nutrient flux

Date: Nov. 10, 2021
Time: 3:30-4:30 p.m.
Location: Online

The next College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences seminar is on Wednesday, Nov. 10, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. via Zoom. The speaker is CFOS postdoctoral fellow Tyler Hennon.

Nutrients from the Pacific Ocean flow north into the Arctic Ocean, where they have a profound effect on the plankton at the base of the marine food web. Hennon will discuss how relationships between Bering and Anadyr Strait nutrients and salinity, as well as long-term observations of Bering Strait salinity and currents, help us understand nutrient concentration and flux through the strait into the Arctic.
