Date: Oct. 13, 2021
Time: 3:30-4:30 p.m.

The next College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences seminar is on Wednesday, Oct. 13, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. via Zoom. The speaker is Suzanne Strom, who is a senior marine scientist at Western Washington University and a CFOS-affiliated faculty member.
"Base of Support: Solving the Puzzle of Primary Production in the Northern Gulf of Alaska"
Seasonal and spatial variability create a mosaic of habitats for microalgae, the ocean’s main primary producers. Stromm will discuss how sampling, remote sensing and modeling contribute to the success of the Northern Gulf of Alaska Long-Term Ecological Research area.
Attendees must register in advance. Email amaguilarislas@alaska.edu for more information.
