Check your required training status
Oct. 31 is the deadline for several new or existing required training courses for all UAF employees. It’s a good time to check to make sure you are up to date on all of your required employee training.
UAF’s required training for all employees is available on three platforms:
MyUA Employee Services Dashboard
- Data Security - Phishing (annual by Oct. 31)
- Data Security - Malware (annual by Oct. 31)
- UA Safe Title IX (annual by Oct. 31)
Via the Environmental Health, Safety and Risk Management website
- Combined Employee Safety Orientation (within first 30 days of employment and then every three years)
- Protection of Minors Training
- If you don’t work directly with minors, take the Non-Authorized Adults training (within first 30 days of employment and then every 3 years if you don’t work directly with minors)
- If you work directly with minors, take the Authorized Adults training (within the first 30 days of employment and then annually).
- Review the Emergency Action Plan for each building you work in (annually).
If you started working at UAF in the last month, you should also check to make sure you have taken the following additional courses within your first 30 days on the job:
MyUA Employee Services Dashboard
Via the Environmental Health, Safety and Risk Management website
- UAF Hazard Communication (or office worker attestation)
Additional training, such as supervisory training, FERPA training, Campus Security Authority (Clery) training, lab safety and hazardous waste management training, or responsible conduct in research training may be required for employees depending on job duties. Please work with your supervisor to determine additional training requirements for your position.
If you aren’t sure whether you have taken the required training, check MyUA or Canvas, or contact UAF Environmental Health, Safety and Risk Management to check your status. Still not sure? Reach out to your unit’s human resources coordinator for help.
