Documentary highlights Dallas Seavey’s historic 2024 Iditarod win

A documentary about Dallas Seavey’s historic sixth victory in the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race will be screened on the University of Alaska Fairbanks Troth Yeddha’ Campus at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20.

The UAF Department of Theatre and Film will present “Iditarod 2024: Chasing the GOAT” in the Salisbury Theatre.

Seavey, who in 2012 became the youngest person to win the race, solidified his status as the most successful musher in Iditarod history in 2024 with his sixth win. He has completed the Iditarod 13 times, with top-10 finishes on 11 occasions.

Produced by the Iditarod organization, the film follows Seavey’s journey through 1,000 miles of rugged Alaska wilderness.

Tickets for the screening are $15 and can be purchased online. All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit The Iditarod, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
