Emeline Jones selected as new Graduate School and Interdisciplinary Studies assistant director
The graduate school is pleased to announce that Emeline Jones has joined the University of Alaska Fairbanks as the new assistant director of the Graduate School and Interdisciplinary Studies.
Graduate School Director Richard Collins said, "I am excited about the perspectives and skills Emeline brings to the graduate school as we continue to work to strengthen the graduate student experience at UAF."
Jones recently graduated from Boston University with her master's degree in Higher Education Administration. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Dickinson College in Pennsylvania. Jones has five years of experience working in education and has previously been recognized and received awards for her achievements in both secondary and higher education in Jacksonville, Florida.
As a strong believer in the power of education and the future of graduate students, Jones said she is delighted and honored to be working with the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Rooted in the belief that knowledge is transformative and empowering, Jones has focused her career on supporting students and universities. Jones said she looks forward to working in person at the Troth Yeddha' campus and getting to know the students, staff, and faculty on the UAF campuses. As a Fairbanks native, Jones is happy to be back in her hometown and excited about the future. She enjoys hiking, reading, and hanging out with her family outside of work.
