Free proposal planning and grant writing courses now available on AlaskaX

Whether you are new to proposal planning and grant writing or just want to get tips for editing and revising, there's an exciting new opportunity to expand your skills for free with three AlaskaX courses on grant writing and management developed by Pete Pinney (interim director, IANRE) with support from the Center for Teaching and Learning.

The three asynchronous courses can be taken independently or learners can complete all three and enroll in the verified (paid) track to earn a Professional Certificate. The Proposal Planning for Grant-Funded Projects course introduces the fundamentals of grant writing and what you need to consider before starting the writing process. The Grant Proposal Writing course delves into the specific structural components of grant proposals, what potential funders are looking for in proposals, and how to effectively communicate your message and plan. The Grant Award Management course focuses on grant administration and award management, working with funders and reporting requirements, and seeking and securing future funding.

Anyone can enroll for free in any or all of the three Grant writing and management courses at https://www.edx.org/school/alaskax. Limited funding is available to pay for UAF staff and faculty who are interested in the verified track, please contact the CTL (uaf-edx@alaska.edu) for more information.
