Holly McDonald has been appointed as the university registrar. Holly's relationship with UAF began over 25 years ago as a student. After working as a student employee and finishing her bachelor's degree at UAF, she began working at the Center for Distance Education, now eCampus, in 2001.

Holly has spent her career serving students, faculty and our communities. After holding a variety of student services positions on Troth Yeddha’ Campus and Interior Alaska Campus, Holly joined the Office of the Registrar in 2013, where she spent seven years as associate registrar. In 2020 Holly took the role of campus advising coordinator, focusing on advisor training, professional development and establishing an advising council. She returned to the Office of the Registrar in March 2020 to serve as interim registrar.

Holly brings a depth of knowledge in a variety of areas such as FERPA, graduation, records, registration, catalog and curriculum. Her institutional knowledge and extensive working relationships across campus and the UA system are an asset as she continues to serve our university as university registrar.

Holly has a bachelor's degree from UAF in Justice and is working on her Master of Public Administration through the University of Alaska Southeast.
