Provost Anupma Prakash has appointed Karsten Hueffer to serve as the interim dean of the College of Natural Science and Mathematics stating, "I'm looking forward to working with Dr. Hueffer as CNSM grows strategically."

Hueffer is a tenured professor and currently the CNSM associate dean for veterinary medicine. He joined the University of Alaska Fairbanks faculty in 2006. Hueffer has been serving as acting dean since May 9, 2022.

Dr. Hueffer said he is excited to continue working with faculty and staff in CNSM and other stakeholders to serve our students and the state by addressing important questions in the natural world of the North.

UAF will conduct a search for the permanent CNSM dean in Spring 2023.
