Hypothes.is summer academy

The summer academy hosted by Hypothes.is features two free courses. Both courses are two weeks long and asynchronous. Learners will have the opportunity to connect with other educators and earn Certified Educator badges and certificates, which can be shared on social media or downloaded and saved for portfolios.

Social Annotation 101 - This session provides users with the basic technical how-tos for using Hypothes.is while focusing on teaching social annotation, including assignment examples and grading strategies. The course is designed for both new and experienced users.

Social Annotation in the Age of AI - This course focuses on using social annotation in response to the new challenges and opportunities presented by AI writing tools such as ChatGPT. Participants will explore teaching strategies for using Hypothes.is in conjunction with or as an attempt to subvert the use of AI writing tools in their courses.
