Join Leif Albertson for a series of in-person, hands-on classes in January to learn how to preserve meat, poultry and game; can fish; pickle vegetables; and make homemade yogurt.
Albertson is a member of the Health, Home and Family Development faculty at the University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service. Classes will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesdays, Jan. 10-31. Everything necessary for the classes will be provided, and students will take home a jar of prepared food at the end of every class.
Classes will be held at Viking Hall, 8141 Briarwood St., Anchorage. Register at http://bit.ly/ExtensionKitchen. Costs range from $35 to $45 per class, or sign up for all four for $144. Registration deadline is five days before each class or Jan. 5 for all four.
