The community will get an opportunity to see new muskox and reindeer calves at the LARS annual Birthday Bash.

The University of Alaska Fairbanks’ Large Animal Research Station will introduce its new reindeer and muskox calves at its annual Birthday Bash from noon-4 p.m. on June 4.

The free event is open to everyone and will include children’s activities, cookies and plenty of animals. Other participants include the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, UAF One Health, the Alaska Center for Unmanned Aircraft Systems Integration, the Fairbanks Knitters Guild and the Fairbanks Children’s Museum.

A shuttle will be available throughout the event to take visitors from UAF’s Taku parking lot, off Farmers Loop Road, to the Birthday Bash. Parking is limited at LARS.

More information about the Large Animal Research Station and the Birthday Bash are available on the LARS Facebook page at www.facebook.com/uaf.lars/.
