Low Carbon Energy Transitions Workshop: March 7-8
Don’t miss the “Low Carbon Energy Transitions: Lessons Learned from Global Pathfinders” free virtual workshop March 7-8, 2023, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Hear directly from the energy champions effecting change in their own countries or regions, including Iceland (geothermal), France (nuclear), Denmark (wind) and Hawaii (solar). Globally, many countries are striving to transition to lower carbon sources of energy.
This transition has been economically and technologically challenging for many nations, but there are exceptions. Countries such as Iceland, Denmark and France have been pathfinders — navigating this transition early and making remarkable transformations in their energy supply in a relatively short period of time.
This workshop, hosted by the Alaska Center for Energy and Power, will dive into the specific and varied experiences of these countries. What were the drivers that set these nations on alternative energy paths? And what role did national policy, innovation and technology development play in helping navigate successful transitions? This workshop is a lead-up event to the Alaska Sustainable Energy Conference.
