The UA Museum of the North will celebrate the winter solstice with hot tea and conversation in the lobby from 11:30 a.m. to noon Thursday, Dec. 21.

The informal gathering is an opportunity to warm up after the Pavva Iñupiaq Dancers’ outdoor Gazhee solstice celebration. Pavva will sing, drum and dance to the rising sun at 11 a.m. at Troth Yeddha' Park, next to the museum.

For those who can’t join in person, University of Alaska Fairbanks public affairs will livestream the dance on UAF’s Facebook page.
