On-time, on-schedule with Zoom’s timer app

The Zoom Timer app is a countdown tool for keeping meetings and time-based tasks on track. Together with the app’s stopwatch, these features can encourage on-time meeting arrivals, make sure meetings don’t go over the scheduled meeting times, and even keep attendees on-track during in-meeting group meditation sessions.

The app displays a countdown in the upper right of the meeting screen, using a circular black and neon green animation. Set it to a timer or stopwatch, depending on your meeting needs.

Prerequisites for use include:

  • A Zoom account
  • The Zoom desktop client for Mac or Windows, versions 5.7.3 or higher

How to install from the App Marketplace:

The Timer app is included with the Zoom desktop client and displayed in the Zoom Apps list.

To manually install the app:

  1. Log in to the Zoom desktop client. On the Zoom Home screen, select Apps in the upper right, or the ellipsis in the upper right and Apps should be visible. 
  2. In the Apps search field enter Timer and then select the ‘Timer’ app icon.
  3. To install choose Allow. Once installed, the app appears under the Apps section of the Zoom desktop client.

Once installed, Timer can be started from within a meeting by selecting the Apps option on the meeting controls panel.
