Pesticide applicator training offered

Two three-day certified pesticide applicator trainings are being offered this spring, March 15-17 or April 26-28.

The University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service offers both trainings via Zoom, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The state requires certification for anyone who purchases, uses or sells restricted-use pesticides. Certification is also required for anyone who acts as a pesticide consultant, engages in the commercial or contract use of pesticides or supervises their use at a public location.

Register for both trainings at bit.ly/PSEPtraining. The $75 fee includes study materials, which can be picked up at extension offices in Anchorage, Palmer, Fairbanks and Delta Junction. Materials can be mailed to individuals for $20. Participants are encouraged to become familiar with the materials and required math beforehand. Contact DeShana York in Anchorage at ddyork@alaska.edu, Theresa Isaac in Palmer at tmisaac@alaska.edu, Ronda Boswell in Fairbanks at rlboswell@alaska.edu or Phil Kaspari in Delta Junction at pnkaspari@alaska.edu.

Accommodation requests related to a disability should be made five business days in advance to Phil Kaspari at 907-895-4215 or pnkaspari@alaska.edu.
